Nigeria’s President, Bola Tinubu, has extended the tenure of Mrs. Kemi Nanna Nandap as Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) until December 31, 2026. This decision underscores the administration’s commitment to enhancing border security and modernizing immigration processes in Africa’s most populous nation.
Mrs. Nandap, who began her career with the NIS in 1989, was initially appointed as Comptroller-General in March 2024. Her leadership has been credited with significant advancements in border management, immigration modernization, and national security measures. These efforts align with President Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Agenda,” which prioritizes safe and legal migration while safeguarding Nigeria’s territorial integrity.
In a statement, President Tinubu praised Mrs. Nandap’s exemplary leadership and urged her to continue driving the Service’s strategic priorities. The administration reaffirmed its support for the NIS in fulfilling its mandate to promote orderly migration and strengthen Nigeria’s position in global migration governance.
