SENATOR NATASHA IS CREATING CONTENT – SENATE SPOKESPERSON
The Senate spokesman, Senator Adeyemi Adaramodu has downplayed the recent allegation against the Senate President by Senator Natasha Apoti Uduaghan describing it as a mere content creation.
Adaramoju, while answering questions from Seun Okinbaloye on the popular Channels Television programme, Politics Today, the senate mouthpiece said he could liken the recent actions by his colleague, Senator Natasha to the stage play presented during his primary and secondary school days.
He further described the solidarity kiss between Natasha and her husband, who accompanied his wife to the plenary today as unnecessary and unethical. He clarified that the kiss is not illegal.
Defending the scene created by the Senate President, Senator Akpabio when he refused to sit on the seat allocated to him as a floor member of the upper Chamber under the presidency of the then Senate President, Bukola Saraki, Senator Adeyemi said the Senate President did the right thing because the gadgets on his assigned seat were not working. He argued that the recent issue is a different ball game.
Senator Adaramodu affirmed that the Senate is a sacred institution with its rules and orders. He said the rules must be obeyed by all members of the senate, be a man or woman. He condemned the actions by Senator Natasha, calling it a disorder upon disorder. “You cannot raise a point of order when you are disordered”, he said, when referring to Natasha’s raising a point of order when not on the right seat allocated to her. He also confirmed that the petition submitted by the estranged senator is against Order 40 of the Senate, which says an originator of a petition cannot signed and submitted by himself or herself.
Commenting on the Order of the Court stopping the Senate from probing her, Adaramodu said the issue is internal in the senate and that the Court has no jurisdiction over it.
