81 DIVISION BOOSTS OFFICERS’ PROFESSIONALISM AND BATTLE READINESS
The 81 Division Nigerian Army has begun the Year 2025 Operations Planning Cadre to further heighten officers’ professionalism and battle readiness.

This year’s edition of the cadre which commences on 3 March 2025 at 81 Division Officers’ Mess, Outer Marina, Victoria Island Lagos, is themed, Enhancing Operational Readiness Through Effective Planning, Collaboration and Capacity Development.
Addressing participants, the Special Guests of Honour and keynote speaker, Commander, Nigerian Army Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Major General Baba Yahaya stated that this year’s Operations Planning Cadre is hinged on broadening professional knowledge, operational planning abilities, enhancing joint operational effectiveness and reinforcing operational preparedness. He emphasised that the Cadre was designed in line with the Chief of Army Staff’s Command Philosophy.
General Yahaya noted that the theme of the Cadre was aptly coined as it reflects the roles officers are currently assigned in ensuring the security of their areas of responsibility.
He acknowledged the visionary and strategic guidance and immense support of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede for placing a high premium on professionalism and combat readiness in the pursuit of collective excellence.
General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Farouk Mijinyawa in his welcome remarks described the Operations Planning Cadre as significant and a forum to brainstorm extensively to determine better ways to project the activities of the Nigerian Army.
He enjoined all participants to express their views, opinions and ideas to achieve the objectives of the Cadre.
Mijinyawa urged them to make maximum use of the Cadre to better appreciate the need for good interface, collaboration and sound coordination of operations with other security agencies.
The Cadre was attended by Army officers serving in 81 Division Area of Responsibility. Officers of the Nigerian Navy, the Nigerian Air Force as well as other Security Agencies attended and interacted freely.
