Major General Farouk Umar Mijinyawa, General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division Nigerian Army, has pledged unwavering support to the Nigerian Army Engineers (NAE). The commitment was made during a courtesy visit from Major General Tonye Thanks Numbere, the newly appointed 31st Commander Corps of Engineers (CCE), to the Headquarters of the 81 Division Nigerian Army in Lagos.
Major General Mijinyawa expressed his gratitude to Major General Numbere for choosing HQ 81 Division as his first point of call following his assumption of office. He assured Major General Numbere of his full support to the Corps of Engineers.
In his remarks, Major General Numbere thanked the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, for the opportunity to serve in his new capacity. He also appreciated Major General Mijinyawa for the warm reception and hospitality. Major General Numbere commended the GOC for the significant achievements in addressing security issues within the division’s area of responsibility since assuming command.
The CCE emphasized the importance of improved collaboration to achieve the COAS’s command philosophy: “To Consolidate the Transformation of the Nigerian Army Towards Bequeathing a well-Motivated and Combat-Ready Force that can Effectively Discharge its Constitutional Responsibilities within a Joint and Multi-Agency Environment.”
