Niger, 27 January 2025 – The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has confirmed a dynamite explosion in the residential area of Sabon Pegi, located in the Mashegu Local Government Area of Niger. The incident occurred early Sunday morning, 26th January 2025, at approximately 7:30 AM.
According to a statement provided to the Nigerian Tribune, the dynamite was stored by a local artisan miner in a rented apartment for his workers. The explosion caused significant property damage and impacted several residents in the area.
