The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, has charged the Nigerian Army troops to uphold the spirit of patriotism while discharging their duties. This message was conveyed to the troops by Major General Philip Eremosele, who represented the COAS, during the COAS Christmas Luncheon with troops held on 24 December 2024 at Headquarters 9 Brigade Nigerian Army, ikeja Lagos.
In his welcome remarks, the GOC 81 Division, Major General FU Mijinyawa noted that the luncheon was organised to appreciate the troops’ relentless efforts, sacrifices, and dedication throughout the year. The event was also to provide a platform for troops to socialise and celebrate the yuletide season with senior officers.
Major General Mijinyawa encouraged the troops to maintain due diligence and uphold the standard of professionalism in the coming year. He also extended prayers to the departed colleagues who passed on during the year.
Highlight of the event included lunch, presentation of gifts to wounded soldiers, presentation of souvenirs to the Special Guest of Honour, and group photographs.
