In an effort of the House of Representatives to win the confidence of Nigerians in their reforms, the lower chamber has resolved that its members will no longer be referred to as Honourbles.
The information was divulged this morning by the Chairman House Committee on Media, who also doubles as the Spokesperson of the Green Chamber, one Akin Rotimi, formerly Hon Akin Rotimi.
Akin Rotimi, while answering questions on a series of issues which include the recent Supreme Court judgment on Local Government Autonomy, women’s representation in the National Assembly, and creation of more states amongst others said the House of Representatives has now agreed to change the title of members of the lower house to Representative instead of honorable. He then referred to himself has Rep. Akin Rotimi. This was also immediately corrected by the Arise anchor to reflect the wish of the Rep.
